Print from original 1767 copperplate engraving by Diderot of the marble mason's floor plan for the Dome des Invalides. After great care in capturing every nuance of the antique original, we print on only the finest cold press art paper and deckle the edges by hand. Featured on raw Belgium linen, this piece is protected with a final finish that imparts a sensuous and tactile feel to the surface. To complete this beautiful picture, we chose a custom-made minimalist oak in walnut stain - our signature presentation giving a fresh and contemporary feel to an elegant piece of art history.
This print is part of our Circa line, inspired by artwork from our family collections. My mother especially had a love for engravings, and we are pleased to share the incredible craftsmanship of centuries past with all of you. Dome des Invalides measures approx. 24.5" H x 24.5" W x 1" D, and weighs 6lbs.
