The Keys / “Les Clefs” Print from a rare and original French copperplate engraving from the legendary Diderot “Encyclopedie, ou dictionnaire raisonne des sciences, des arts et des métiers” published in 1779. After great care in capturing every nuance of the antique original, we print on the finest cold press art paper and deckle the edges by hand. Featured on raw Belgium linen, this piece is protected with a final finish that imparts a sensuous and tactile feel to the surface. To complete this beautiful picture, we chose a custom made minimalist oak frame stained in walnut stain. Altogether, this is our signature presentation giving a fresh and contemporary feel to an elegant piece of art history.
This print is part of our Circa line, inspired by artwork from our family collections. My mother especially had a love for engravings, and we are pleased to share the incredible craftsmanship of centuries past with all of you. The Keys measures approx 30" H x 23" W x 1" D, and weighs approx. 8 lbs.
