SIZE: 12.5" X 17"

My great grandfather, William J. Crosswell, was engaged to a young woman from Greenville, South Carolina. In the months leading up their wedding in 1871, they maintained a daily correspondence. In a habit learned through the privations of the Civil War, he wrote his letters in "cross-hatch" style, turning the paper to write over what had just been written. The result is as beautiful as it is undecipherable. It's fun to think he did it to hide the "naughty' bits, but no, we've checked. Tray measures approx. 12.5"H x 17"W x 2.25"H and weighs 2lbs.
